the project

Human bodies is a project run by me, Alex Mendo. In 2017, I started taking G-rated nudes of my friends and sharing them on my Instagram account @humanbodies. In 2022, as my sexuality flourished, I began producing erotic videos with my lovers and submitting them to indie porn film festivals. This project now combines both my non-erotic and erotic art into one place that celebrates human intimacy, confidence and sensuality. Im thankful for all the talented friends that have volunteered their bodies or skills to create this work together.

ABOUT ME

I’ve called many places my home. I was born in Dallas, TX studied in Boston, MA, then began a career as a software designer in San Francisco, CA. In 2024 I quit my tech job to explore life as a full time traveler and artist. I’m currently inspired by a movement practice called Estatic Dance, a free-form, unchoreographed movement practice where participants move to music in a way that feels natural and expressive. Many of the poses I do are informed by this movement.
